RETRO RIG / POLICY

Privacy Policy

RetroRig is built to keep your collection records under your control.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Overview

RetroRig is an equipment catalog and maintenance companion for retro gaming hardware. This policy explains how the Android app handles the information you enter or choose to use while using RetroRig.

Information stored on your device

RetroRig stores collection information locally on your device. This can include equipment names, manufacturer and model details, serial numbers, condition and service notes, locations, purchase details, maintenance records, signal paths, photos, and report or backup files you create.

RetroRig does not operate an account system, cloud sync service, or developer-hosted database. The app does not transmit this collection information to RetroRig's developer.

Camera and photo library

RetroRig asks for camera permission only when you choose to take an equipment or maintenance photo. It can also use Android's photo picker when you choose an existing picture. Selected photos are copied into the app's local storage so they can be attached to your records.

Exports, reports, and backups

You can create reports, CSV exports, and backups. Those files are generated and stored locally. When you choose Share, Save, or Export, Android's system share sheet lets you select the destination. RetroRig does not choose that destination or send the file on your behalf.

Hardware notices and external sources

RetroRig includes curated, source-linked hardware notices. Opening a source link sends you to that third-party website or browser. Those websites have their own privacy practices; RetroRig does not send your collection records with the link.

Announcements and tips

RetroRig may request a small public announcement file from the developer's website so the Home screen can show current news, tips, or service information. This request does not include your collection records, photos, serial numbers, purchase history, or service history. The hosting provider may process routine connection information, such as an IP address and device browser information, solely to deliver the file and protect the service.

No advertising, analytics, or sale of data

RetroRig does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, tracking SDKs, or data brokers. It does not sell, rent, or share your collection information for advertising or marketing.

Your choices

You can edit or permanently delete records and associated photos from within RetroRig. You can also remove the app and its local data through your Android device settings. Android permissions for the camera and photo picker can be changed at any time in your device settings.

Because RetroRig does not maintain user accounts or a developer-hosted collection database, there is no server-side account or collection record for the developer to retrieve or delete.

Changes to this policy

If RetroRig's data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the change is made available. The date above identifies the latest revision.
